The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to work: your account, the check-ins, tasks, reminders and preferences you add, and the trusted contacts you choose.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your wellbeing data for advertising.
- Support actions, such as alerting a trusted contact, only happen when you start them.
- You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time.
- NeuroSentio is a support and organisation tool, not a medical device or an emergency service.
1. Who we are
NeuroSentio (“NeuroSentio”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides the NeuroSentio mobile app and this website. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
NeuroSentio is not yet a registered company. It is currently run by its founding team, who are responsible for your personal information under this policy. When NeuroSentio is registered, we will update this policy with the company’s full legal name and registered details.
If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name and email address, and a password (stored only in protected, hashed form by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile: name, email address and profile picture.
- Energy check-ins: the energy level you record and when you recorded it, which the app uses to show patterns and insights.
- Planner content: tasks, reminders, times and notes you create.
- Communication preferences: the Neuro Card preferences you choose, such as “text instead of calling” or “low voice please”.
- Trusted contacts: the name and contact details of people you choose to add (see section 6).
- Voice requests: what you ask the AI voice assistant to do, such as “add focus time at 10 AM” (see section 7).
- Messages to us: anything you send through our contact form or by email, including your name and email address.
Information collected automatically
- Technical information: such as device type, operating system, app version, and basic logs needed to keep the service secure and fix problems.
- Notification settings: so reminders and check-in prompts reach you at the times you set.
We do not ask for, and you should not add, information that the app does not need, such as medical records or diagnoses.
3. How we use your information
- To create and run your account and keep you signed in.
- To provide the app’s features: energy check-ins and insights, the planner and reminders, Neuro Cards, Safe Mode, trusted contact alerts and the voice assistant.
- To send reminders and notifications you have switched on.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
- To keep the service safe, prevent misuse, and fix bugs.
- To improve NeuroSentio, using aggregated or de-identified information wherever possible.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.
4. Our legal bases
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on:
- Contract: to provide the app and the features you choose to use.
- Explicit consent: for wellbeing-related information (see section 5). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the service secure, prevent misuse and improve it, in ways you would reasonably expect.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
5. Wellbeing information
Some information in NeuroSentio, such as energy check-ins, Safe Mode use and communication needs, may reveal something about your health or neurodivergence. The law treats this as special category data, and so do we.
- We process it only with your explicit consent, and only to provide the features you use.
- We never sell it, and never use it for advertising.
- We do not share it with your employer, school or anyone else unless you choose to (for example, by showing someone your Neuro Card).
- You can withdraw consent by stopping use of these features or deleting your account. This does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
6. Trusted contacts
Safe Mode lets you alert someone you trust. When you add a trusted contact, you give us their name and contact details so the app can contact them (using the method shown in the app, such as a message or notification) only when you choose to send an alert.
- Please only add people who have agreed to be your trusted contact.
- We use their details only to send the alerts you trigger, never for marketing.
- You can edit or remove a trusted contact at any time, and they can ask us to remove their details.
7. Voice & AI features
The AI voice assistant turns what you say into tasks and reminders.
- The app only listens after you tap to speak. You can use the planner without the voice assistant at any time.
- Your speech is converted to text using speech recognition. Depending on your device, this may be done on the device itself or by your device’s speech service (provided by Apple or Google, under their own privacy terms).
- The text of your request is then processed by us and our technology providers so it can be understood and turned into a task or reminder. We use only what is needed for this, and only to provide the feature.
- We do not use your voice requests to build advertising profiles.
- AI can misunderstand requests, so please check the tasks and reminders it creates. You can edit or delete them at any time.
8. Who we share information with
We share personal information only where needed to run NeuroSentio, with providers who act on our instructions and must protect it:
- Supabase: database, storage and account authentication.
- Google: if you choose “Sign in with Google”.
- Technology providers for voice and AI features: to turn voice-assistant requests into tasks and reminders.
- Apple and Google: app distribution through the App Store and Google Play, and device notifications.
- FormSubmit: delivers messages sent through our website contact form to our inbox.
- Your trusted contacts: only the alert you choose to send them.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a business transfer (in which case this policy will continue to apply). We do not sell personal information.
9. International transfers
Some of our providers may store or process data outside the UK. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.
10. How long we keep information
- Account and app data: for as long as your account is active.
- After you delete your account: we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep some of it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
- Messages to us: for as long as needed to deal with your request, and then for a limited period in case you follow up.
11. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your device locked.
12. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- Delete your information (“right to be forgotten”);
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability: receive your data in a commonly used format;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live.
13. This website
- No tracking cookies or analytics. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

14. Age requirement
NeuroSentio is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as NeuroSentio develops. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and if a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
